What is the anxious fear of heights?

Acrophobia, or the fear of heights is an extremely common fear, affecting up to 1 in 20 adults in the UK alone. This fear seems to be little easier to manage than some of the other most common fears as it is reasonably easy to avoid a situation where you will find yourself standing at a great height. Acrophobic individuals generally experience bouts of anxiety or panic attacks should they find themselves in a location which is set at a great height.

Simply tend to avoid activities such as roller coasters, Ferris wheels, bungee jumping or famously high landmarks such as The Empire State Building and The Eiffel Tower and stick the ground based recreational activities. However, avoiding these places does not mean you have overcome your fear and in the event that you expectedly find yourself at the top of a tall building or in a location that is set up high, you will more than likely experience some of the symptoms once again.

As with most phobias, the fear of heights seems to stem from an earlier negative life experience such as an accident, trauma or loss. For some individuals, just thinking about being up high is enough to bring on some level of panic or anxiety.

What are the symptoms of Acrophobia?

The fear of heights should not be confused with the medical condition of “vertigo”, which is often associated with height. Vertigo is actually a condition whereby sufferers experience a spinning effect when they are standing or sitting still.
If you already know that you suffer from a fear of heights, or you find yourself in a high up location where you feel that you are not in control, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms;

At Anxiety Hypnosis we aim to help you reduce the following:

Increase in heart rate
Sweating
Heightened levels of fear
Shaking Limbs
Nausea
Dizziness
Irrational thoughts

When such symptoms are present, many sufferers of Acrophobia tend to lower their body towards the floor, descend from their position or even sit or lie on the ground.

What can The Nexus Team do to overcome and manage your anxious fear of heights?

The difference between managing your fears and overcoming them is quite large. ANXIETY HYPNOSIS in Walsall/Birmingham

6 REASONS WHY ANXIETY HYPNOSIS WON’T WORK ON YOU!

Below I will give you the reasons to why Anxiety Hypnosis won’t work on you because…

#1 First and foremost you have to be ready to change, so if you’re not ready, it is difficult to get you to change and free yourself from anxiety etc…

#2 You don’t value yourself enough to change and to become the person you want to be. People value everything, this is not in a monetary term, but the value of thought/emotion onto anything.

#3 People will want to prove a point that they are always right and you can’t change me! So this will try to make a therapist look as though they are incompetent.

#4 Your ability to lack the quality of expanding your awareness and so raise your positive vibrational energy.

#5 The massive amount of excuses to help keep you in your negative state of thinking. e.g. Too old, too young, too tried, no time, and so on…

#6 You never turned up for therapy.

6 REASONS WHY ANXIETY HYPNOSIS WILL WORK FOR YOU…

Below I will give you the reasons to why Anxiety Hypnosis WILL work on you because…

#1 You recognise that you want to change and that you are now ready for the new positive you, also that you no longer fear the change.

#2 You have pride in yourself that adds value to your ability of self believe, to be emotive in the change you want.

#3 You are no longer afraid of leaving the old crowd/tribe of people and friends behind. You realise that other people can also be right.

#4 You now know that there is something else within you that drives a desire to raise your conscious awareness. This maybe that you have noticed certain signs that are telling you to move on and seek change.

#5 You are of an age that you now know that old excuses no longer work for you how they once did. You’re not too old, too young, too tired, and you now know you have time.

#6 You received therapy form Anxiety Hypnosis from The Nexus Team and you feel so much better and once more it didn’t take that long.

Don’t take my word for this. Here are a few testimonials of how my past clients now feel. Click here.

Is Your Stress Making You a Diabetic?

RAISED BLOOD PRESSURE.

Into the Danger Zone

There are no symptoms for having high blood pressure, if you have high blood pressure you are likely to get type 2 diabetes.

Out of 4 million people tested, 60% had a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes, again no symptoms.

Things that might be happening to you, that you could have a blood sugar problem:

1. Visiting the toilet more often.High Blood Pressure Anxiety Hypnosis Birmingham Walsall The Nexus Team
2. Feeling more thirsty.
3. Being more tired than usual.
4. Blurred vision.
5. Losing weight without dieting.
6. Genital itching or thrush.
7. Wounds are taking longer to heal.

The only way of knowing whether you have high blood pressure in the have it checked.

THINK of what builds your blood pressure up to begin with?

Constant high levels of stress, this is usually the case from a working environment where sales people have to hit targets week in and week out.

Because our bodies get used to the pressure of the stress we put up with it and it habituates. We really don’t notice it until we get even more stressed and only then will you feel ready to blow your top.

Of course all of this leads to getting more anxious and worrying as your health begins to deteriorate.
Your health is getting worse, leading to more sick days of work. The thought of loosing your job stresses you out and this leads to you being more anxious.

Valuing yourself.

If you really value yourself, before it’s too late you now have to really change your life style, before you end up going to anger management courses or receiving stress management counselling or are on long term medication for diabetes.

At the end of the day your health matters and no one else is going to look after you and know how you’re feeling until you put the changes into your life today.

Anxiety Hypnosis Could Help You.

I am here at Anxiety Hypnosis to help you with anxiety, stress, anger, and also to help you know how to manage this, so anxiousness will no longer be a problem.

If you want an effective way to manage your anxiety and stress levels and you feel that you would benefit from hypnosis, then you are the perfect candidate to join me and start to live a life you truly deserve.

My #1 TOP TIP.

would be to engage more in the relaxing aspects of your life and you will know what these are and what suits you, then start to retreat away from the stress. This can be done with taking quality breaks. i.e. you don’t do any work when on your break, also create a structure of work load that you can call time-out by not having to do your work at home all the time.

Kids have always had the right attitude when given homework to do from school, that they don’t want to do it! And at the end of the day neither should you, particular if it is leading you to:

1. Stress.
2. Blood pressure.
3. Type 2 diabetes.
4. Anxiety.
5. Anger issues.
6. Relationship problems.
7. Panic attacks.
8. Long term sickness.

Remember you didn’t sign up for this!

Another quick tip.

When you take a deep breath and then you breathe out, do a long sigh as this helps you get rid of more tension and stress. Do this action several times and you’ll soon start to feel the benefits.

If you would like a free complimentary consultation where I can work with you on a 1-2-1 basis please contact me. Many people suffer from what I have spoken about here and not just in the Birmingham and Walsall areas. This is a modern symptom from a modern world and our bodies cannot cope.

As I treat clients with high Stress and Anxiety levels, they soon start to realise how they can take control of their life and learn how to be calm in a high tension area, whether at work or in the home life.

I look forward to knowing how I can help you…

CLAUSTROPHOBIA AND HOW TO OVERCOME IT

The fear of small spaces

lift CLAUSTROPHOBIA SUFFERS IN BIRMINGHAM & WALSALL ANXIETY HYPNOSISClaustrophobia, or to use its common name, the fear of small spaces, is an anxiety related disorder that often brings on panic attacks when an individual finds themselves in an enclosed or confined space such as an elevator, train, aircraft or even a small room. The fear usually stems from the affected individual believing that they cannot escape or “get out” from an enclosed or suffocating situation. Like most other fears or phobias, claustrophobia normally develops due to a previous experience in the sufferers’ earlier life, usually a trauma or life-threatening situation.

Surprisingly for some, claustrophobia can also be experienced in open spaces. This occurs when the sufferer is part of a large crowd or gathering and again, feels that they are unable to escape from the crowd and find their own space once again. This can occur in places such as concerts, or even inside a packed cinema.

Sufferers are normally aware that their fear is irrational, but when faced with a sudden or unexpected situation where they feel they cannot escape, they usually enter a state of panic and the fear overcomes their normal rationality.

Common Symptoms

When an enclosed space situation arises around an affected individual, the following symptoms are common:
Heavy sweating
The fear of physical or actual harm
Shaking of the limbs
Increased heart rate
Dizziness (light – headedness)
Nausea
Difficulty in breathing

Often, when an individual realizes that they suffer from claustrophobia, the symptoms can seem worse and also arise more often. The individual tends to avoid more and more areas where they feel that an enclosed situation may occur and the subsequent anticipation of a panic attack actually increases their anxiety and heightens their fears.

What can I do to overcome and manage my fear of small spaces?

The treatment of claustrophobia is very similar to that of other anxiety related fears and phobias. As claustrophobia is almost always a learned response to an enclosed space situation, it can also be un-learned just as effectively. Anxiety Hypnosis is by far the best and most successful way to control your claustrophobia and through using Anxiety Hypnosis you can not only learn to manage this fear but overcome it completely.

The Nexus Team Hypnotherapy (Anxiety Hypnosis) have been helping clients from Birmingham, Walsall and the surrounding areas, overcome claustrophobia and their fears of small spaces for many years, all in safe and comfortable surroundings.

THE FEAR OF FLYING AND HOW TO CONQUER IT!

Anxiety hypnosis on fear of flying with The Nexus Team

The Fear of Flying.

One of the most common fears in our modern society is the fear of flying, or as it is more commonly known, aviophobia. It is probably more common than you think, with up to 1 in 5 people suffering from the symptoms. For some sufferers it is the directly linked to the fear of flying and for others it can come from the fear of heights, or from the fear of confined spaces.
This phobia is often one of the most common fears and also the most inconvenient as travelling by air is often impossible to avoid, especially in a professional or business setting. Not only could this phobia prevent you from enjoying a family holiday or vacation, but in extreme cases it may even hinder your career path or advancement if you are required to travel frequently in the work related arena.
Deep down, we all know that travelling by plane is statistically the safest way to travel but for some, the fear that comes with boarding a plane is unbearable and can ultimately spoil your business trip or quality family time.

Common Symptoms.

Symptoms of aviaphobia normally arise in two different situations; flight and pre-flight.
Flight – these symptoms are perhaps more common and occur either during a flight or shortly before take-off. The symptoms are usually the onset of a panic attack and sometimes vomiting.
Pre-Flight – these symptoms can often arise a few days or even weeks before an upcoming flight and are usually brought on by the thought of having to travel by aeroplane. The symptoms are anxiety attacks and often stress related distress.

What can I do to overcome and manage my fear of flying?

Overcoming and managing your fears are two very different things; simply managing your fear of flying is not a long term solution and still leaves you wondering if the fear will take over again at any time. The most successful, easiest and long-term solution for completely overcoming your fear is to use anxiety hypnosis.
Myself and my highly skilled hypnotherapy team at The Nexus Team Hypnotherapy are leading experts in our field and have been helping clients from Birmingham, Walsall and the surrounding areas, overcome their flying phobias for many years, all in a safe and comfortable environment.

What can I do next?

If you are currently suffering from flight related anxiety or anxiety attacks and it is preventing you from travelling by plane for business, leisure or for a well-deserved family break, then contact me at The Nexus Team Hypnotherapy today. With my help, you can take control of your travel plans again and overcome your flying phobia once and for all.

As with any external stress due to worrying, this can lead to an unnatural amount of fear and this can lead to an over reaction and then to a full blown panic attack. If you should suffer the most extreme of these then it can be life threatening as you are out of control and if in a plane, you will want to get out of there no matter what and you may well go and open the cabin doors at 30,000 ft.

So my advice would be to see me for help and don’t let fears control your life. As with many people I have treated in the Birmingham, Walsall and indeed around the world you can overcome this.
