Angry Women Are Getting Worse.

Angry Women.

Angry women are no longer able to keep their patience due to how the anger epidemic seems to be sweeping the nation. The pressures and strains on women are worse than ever before, although you don’t need me to tell you this. Men have always shown anger, but it always appears to look worse when a woman shouts or voices her anger.

Angry Liver.

Continually feeling angry starts to damage your liver because of the chemical imbalance in the body and of course the blood stream. The liver clears out toxins from the blood stream that are released via chemicals via the process of how you think. Just as adrenaline is released if we are in a fight or flight situation. So it is important not to get angry as it never really helps, especially when the anger is controlling you and not the other way around.

Angry Child.

Family Fighting You don’t have to be an adult to be angry or have a bad temper. We can all have a temper or a breaking point. Just as the school bully victim can eventually turn and fight the bully back, because of the breaking point. Every adult is a product of a child. Adults are grown out of children, but what changes from when you were a child to becoming an adult? Do you not feel the same feelings when you were a child getting angry to when you are an adult feeling angry. The emotions are the same. The only difference is that it is less accepted in adults, especially in women, because they are seen as the carers, or the nurturing ones or the fairer sex…

Anxiety Hypnosis The Easy Cure.

The Nexus Team has treated many clients whether children or adults with anger issues. People don’t really want to feel angry or be angry. Worse still are the guilty feelings afterwards, following the uncontrolled outburst that is totally out of character. We really only get angry because events are not going our way. So this leads to frustration and as we simmer, the problems are not resolved, we go from simmering point to boiling and we blow our top, so to speak… The Nexus Team has found that his clients don’t need loads of therapy or anger management sessions to STOP being angry. Because of his methods, he gets the results his clients desire.

Your Health Or Anger?

This isn’t about never being angry but rather that you have other options open to you than always going to your mental default setting and always being angry. Sometimes we need to show anger, especially if our life is in danger and there’s no way out. But rather than blowing your top at the smallest of incidents, such as someone cutting you up or the middle lane hogger. Or being surprised if you’re not treated as you expected. Temper also is short for temperance and that leads to how you temper your anger as you learn how to bring out your patience more and more, until you look back by noticing how far you have come. Ultimately you will feel pride rather than guilt.

Helping You Towards success.

The Nexus Team.

Is Social Anxiety affecting you and particularly the people of Walsall.
10 Tools Helping You Deal With Social Anxiety…

What Is Social Anxiety?

Social anxiety is a collection of emotions that lead to anxiety when meeting people in a social environment. This can range from a mild uneasiness to a full blown panic attack. This fear of meeting people can come on at anytime during your life and for no apparent reason apart from not dealing with the stresses you have put yourself under. So this becomes the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak.

Social Anxiety Symptoms.

Social Anxiety from The Nexus Team Anxiety Hypnosis & Reiki Healing Walsall
Social anxiety symptoms can include:

Trembling.
Palpitations.
Rapid heart beat.
Fear of ridicule.
Rapid breathing rate.
Feeling sick.
Bad cramps in your stomach.
Excess sweating.
Agitation.
Feeling uncomfortable in your own skin.
Feeling of being overwhelmed.
Not being able to think straight.
Loosing your concentration.
Temporary memory loss.
Not knowing how to talk to others.
Uncomfortable peer pressure.
Feeling that others are judging you.
Feeling that others are better than you.
Loss of confidence.
Not wanting to stand out.
Not drawing any attention to yourself.
Taking avoidance measures.
Fainting. low blood pressure

The good news is that no one ever died of social anxiety.

What Can You Do To Stop Social Anxiety.

Going out is not necessarily the first answer to deal with your social anxiety because you’re trying to do something that you cannot do, this can push you back further.
Seeing a therapist can help because they know how to uncover the root cause of your problem also they can reframe your negativity into a positive.
Getting support from family and friends, also telling people who you meet as they will be more sympathetic than you realise and may even relay stories of how they overcame their social anxiety.
You can always laugh at your problem as laughter is one of the biggest and most powerful cures you can have. You can also learn to place your attention onto something else, so as not to focus on the social anxiety.

Social Media In Walsall.

You could say social media has a negative role to play as friends become virtual friends and so we become dissociated from them. Just as you might view a war scene on the news, it never really affect you and 2 mins later you forget about it, even thought the conflict is very real. This is a dissociation towards the real world as the comfort of home is our security blanket and leaving our home is taking away the security, then you are exposed and vulnerable. So the only way the mind and body can get you to feel safe again it to give you all these negative emotions, so that you’ll return back home to your security blanket.

My Top Tools To Help Social Anxiety.

# 1 Remember to start meeting real people and not virtual ones. i.e. social media or games.
# 2 Get coached on how to meet and greet people.
# 3 Face and feel the fear and do it anyway.
# 4 Realise that you always survived a social anxious moment no matter how bad it was.
# 5 Tell people that you have social anxiety and they will understand you better and you too will feel relieved.
# 6 Don’t let social anxiety define who you really are.
# 7 Start to do things that you have avoided in the past and become braver.
# 8 Start to build on your confidence and use your confidence.
# 9 Check that any medication you are taking is not making you feel social anxiety or paranoia .
#10 Every day practice smiling at new people in the street and say hello you’ll get a smile back and a nice greeting.

6 Quick and easy ways to avoid a panic attack in Walsall

The Nexus Team Anxiety Hypnosis & Reiki Healing Walsall

Know exactly what it is that you panic over…

#1 Know exactly what it is that you panic over, e.g if you panic over seeing a spider, is it the size – how quick it can move – or it only bothers you in the house. Once you break this down you can start to readjust what it is that scares you and you can work on that specific problem. If it is all of them in this example then you need to look into having hypnotherapy.

Get better control over your thoughts

#2 To help you get better control over your thoughts you have to start to get discipline over your thinking. How disciplined are you? You can see those people who have to eat a whole packet of biscuits rather than just having a couple. Where is their discipline… What about those who go to a gym and never go again. Of course the list could be endless as we keep on putting things off…  So start to have discipline in your life.

Your own personal mantras.

#3 …STOP – STOP – STOP!!! using negative words or sayings. Your own personal mantras of negativity can be your own personal destructive mechanism. You have to start saying and thinking positive thoughts. This may seem strange to begin with , but soon it will start to feel natural. e.g. I feel better today than yesterday, I feel more calm and relaxed than I have felt in a long time…

Surround yourself by people who will support you.

#4 Surround yourself by people who will support you, by feeling calm and not panicking any longer. We class these people as either ‘drains or radiators’. Realise who drains you or who makes you feel radiated with positivity.

80% of the time you create a wealth of positivity.

#5 Do more things that make you feel good as this could be an 80 – 20 rule. 80% of the time you create a wealth of positivity in your life and the other 20% maybe to do with a job you may not like or a family member that you don’t always get on with. Once the balance tips towards you, you can then do a 20% of being positive and you’ll feel much better 80% on the time.

Do I really need to have a panic attack.

#6 Having a panic attack is just something you have learned as you didn’t come into the world having a panic attack. So start to relax and think for a moment – Do I really need to have a panic attack right now or do I have the mental capacity to have discipline to be relaxed and positive right now.

Helping you towards success.

Anxiety Hypnosis Helping You With Depression.

Depression

phoneThose of you who suffer with or from depression need to read this.

It will be of no surprise that people with depression know how bad it can make you feel.

This is more on self analogy and what you could consider changing about yourself to get over depression.

You were not born being depressed, this maybe hard to take on board, but depression is only created by you and nobody else.

Some people are on medication for depression and this is up to you and your doctor to know if you can come off anti depressant medication. But all to often people become too reliant on being medicated.

One of the first things is to realise that like all emotions it is okay to feel depressed. But as with other emotions we experience such as laughing, happy, motivated, crying and so on, you only do these for a while and then move on to another emotion, such as being relaxed.

So in other words it’s okay to be depressed for a while and then come out of it and experience another emotion. Just don’t stay in with a depressed feeling. When you laugh, you don’t keep laughing all the while or if you yawn, you don’t continue, as with crying. You can only cry for so long and then you stop. Start to have the same ability with feeling depressed. (Don’t stay there).

If you are supporting many other negative feelings, e.g. feeling anxious, worried, fearful, having panic attacks, your mind is carrying all the weight of your problems and this becomes your depression.

Depression is you being pressed down into the ground as you balance all the weight of your problems.

You can change, I have helped many people to come out of depression and off medication with doctors supervision and to lead a normal life once more.

Rather than a depression, start to make an impression upon yourself. So what can you do?

Here are some tips to start you on your journey of change.

#1 Pick one emotion that you could do without and change it today. e.g. Begin to worry less and if a worrying thought comes into your head then stop it and think of a wonderful moment in your life.

#2 Once you have an emotion under control, start to work on another one. i.e this could be stay more relaxed and practice breathing techniques.

#3 If you are on medication visit your doctor and ask if it is possible to have a reduction in the strength of the medication to help work your way off the medication.

#4 Notice that some people with depression look depressed by the way they move and hold their heads and they generally talk slower.

#5 Change #4 if this is you. How? By walking upright, also have your chin angled slightly upwards. Have your shoulders back, with stomach held in and breathe from the top part of your chest. Also talking a little bit quicker will stop that depressed voice.

#6 Continue to work away at your depression no matter how bad things may feel. Soon you will look back and realise how far you have come.

If you need a 1-2-1 session with me to kick start you away from feeling depressed and would want to feel better about yourself then contact me at Anxiety Hypnosis.

You can also download my free anxiety hypnosis 7 solutions to axe anxiety, this will start to help you with those other negative emotions that you have been holding onto.

Helping you towards success.

Below are some GREAT TIPS on GOAL Setting.

If you missed these on FaceBook. I have posted them onto my Anxiety Hypnosis Blog Site.

I have to speak in general terms as I don’t know what your specific goal is. But the method of how it works will be the same principle. (A goal is a goal is a goal).

#1 A goal is only limited by your lack of imagination to have it come into fruition…

#2 Don’t make your goal too unachievable as this will destroy your confidence.

#3 A goal doesn’t have to change the world, it just has to satisfy you.

#4 Your goal can be for anything that you believe will improve you. i.e. to cook a meal, prove that you can be confident, learn to play an instrument, be a better person, change an old negative behaviour pattern, save a certain amount of money, or to get that dream job or your promotion.

#5 Your goal is the end result of a series of events that you have worked too. But more often than not your goal continues to develop.

#6 Now that you have a goal in place, write this in a diary as to when it will happen, this could be to lose weight or to build muscle.

#7 If you have given yourself 6 months to do this. Start to divide your diary up into manageable segments. This can be a review of your accomplishments of each week. e.g You have lost 3 pounds in the first week, so you know you are on track.

#8 Have trust in the process of what you want. You will also need to have a value to why you want to have this goal in the first place.

#9 Start to tell people who you believe will help you get your goal. If someone puts you down, then realise that this is your goal and not theirs and they are telling you that they couldn’t do this. So don’t see their failure as a reflection of you.

#10 You may need to seek help from people you never thought you would need help from. If you want to lose weight, you might have to see a personal trainer, or if you want to speak better for either work related events or self improvement – you may need to go to Toastmasters. And so on.

#11 What is the difference between a person who succeeds and one who fails. It is their story. Both will face the same problems – but failure will talk about how difficult it was and how bad the problems were to overcome and how they got stopped. The success story will be the same as the failure story apart from how they overcame adversity.

#12 Start to act as though you have already accomplished what you set out to do. If this was to pass a test for example, Act as though you have passed. Imagine you want to pass a driving test, you could imagine while you’re out that your car in parked in a certain car park.

#13 The human mind and body has to do what it cannot do. What I mean by this is. If you want to learn to swim, then you have to get into the water, if you want to do public speaking, then you have to speak, If you want to get rid of fear, then you have to do the very thing that makes you fearful. So if you want to be a successful person, then you have to do successful things.

#14 Use positive self talk, you can use a mirror for this and if need be give yourself a telling off, but always end on how you will achieve your goal.

#15 Use a power stance. Stand in front of a full length mirror and strike a pose of success or how you will feel when your goal is completed. Do this twice a day for two minutes at a time. If you see models on the catwalk whether men or women, they walk with power and confidence no matter how crazy the outfit is.

#16 Read and learn as much as you can on having a goal mindset. Once your mind is set to aim for the goal, then it is just a matter of chronological time for the fruits of your labour to manifest.

#17 Imagine the farmer, what he has to do to prepare for the harvest. Waiting a whole year or longer depending on the crop to know that his hard work paid off. Yours will be the same. So don’t pick at nu-ripened fruit as you will have a bitter taste left. In other words don’t judge your success before it’s time.

#18 Don’t be to rigid in your thinking as you may be steered in a different direction to what you thought it was going to be.

#19 Have an appreciation of your milestones and celebrate. The media is great for doing this. Look at the Oscars and Gramme awards, the fancy functions and parties that they throw for themselves. This can be a great boost for you.

#20 Don’t let a failure dictate you away from your goal. If anything that you do, will at some point go wrong. But if you worked this into your goal plan to begin with, then it is no surprise.

#21 There will always be happy accidents as there is no such thing as failure. You only have feedback to know what works best for your goal.

#22 Don’t be overly focused to the detriment of other important values in your life. Such as family and friends and down time.

#23 The mind is a great instrument and it can often work better when you least expect it. Creative companies will let the staff play with toys and have a brightly coloured room to help inspire their minds.

#24 You won’t remember everything related to your goal when you are on this journey. So get ready to record your thoughts, so have a pen and paper handy, especially when you’re in bed as your creative thinking will happen then.

#25 Have time management to help you and don’t burn yourself out to get what you want because it will all turn out for the best in the end, And if it’s not turned out properly, then it’s not the end just yet.

#26 Write down a plan of ACTION every week.

#27 Have positive affirmations that will reinforce the goal for your need. e.g. “I am relaxed more today than yesterday”. “I now have my dream house”. Etc…

#28 Don’t give up at any stage. This is a process and you have to complete it.

#29 Enjoy the journey of achieving your goal as this is as important as accomplishing your GOAL

#30 Always be proactive in getting what you have set out to do. Whether this is to write a daily blog to help and inspire others or conquer your fears or to pass that final exam.

#31 Your brain works better with protein, so eat properly and you will function better.

#32 Have rules, limitations and boundaries. These are important for example if you wanted to write a book. As with a story, you need a system to work to and for your goal, you need a system that will work for you.

#33 Create a discipline order and structure, in other words make a plan of successful events that will prove to you that you are well on your way to achieving your goal.

#34 Remember to be kind to yourself and don’t be too hard as firm flexibility works best.

#35 Let me be the first to congratulate you on your personal success as you knew you could do it. So whether this was a personal achievement to live a happier life, to cook a gourmet meal, or buy your dream house or get that job you wanted, or to help mankind. Whatever it is, realise that you can do it!

CYNOPHOBIA AND THE FEAR OF DOGS

Anxiety Hypnosis & Jikiden Reiki is Helping you in Birmingham – Walsall – Pelsall
Birmingham, Walsall and Pelsall have many dog walking areas as indeed all over the UK, but for the many people with a fear of dogs this can be a very daunting experience. Anxiety Hypnosis or Jikiden Reiki Therapy can be your biggest way to compact this heightened anxiety, fear of dogs.

What is the fear of dogs and why do I have it?

The fear of dogs, or Cynophobia to call it by its official name, refers to a condition in which an individual suffers from an intense or extreme anxious fear of dogs, more specifically, being bitten or harmed by a dog. This fear of dogs, more often than not, leads to the sufferer taking extreme measures and methods in order to avoid seeing or being in the presence of a dog.
Even though most Cynophobic adults understand that their fear is irrational and even unreasonable at times, they simply cannot control or manage this fear when a situation arises in which a dog is present. Normally the root cause of cynophobia comes from a previous traumatic experience, normally from childhood. This could have been caused from something physical like an actual dog bite or attack, to a bad memory of loud, angry or an aggressive barking dog.

Anxiety Hypnosis EMDR.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the best ways that The Nexus Team knows of that will help your mind process the bad thoughts and so leaving you feeling more in control. EMDR is non invasive, also my clients have enjoyed the outcome of this process. Combined with the power of hypnosis that can create a long lasting effect of confidence. I often use my dog Jack who helps my clients overcome their fear/anxiety as he helps reduce this fear by getting them to be more accepting of dogs and so be anxious free.

As with most fears and phobias, an individual’s level of fear or anxiety differs from person to person. For some, dogs who seem under control by their owners and on a lead, have little or no effect to them as their stress level remains low and for them to feel in control. However, a dog roaming free may cause a sharp increase in anxiety/fear and panic levels. For other individuals, simply the sound of barking dogs is enough for panic and anxiety to set in.

What are the symptoms of Cynophobia?

The fear of dogs has many of the same symptoms as similar fears or phobias, however sufferers of cynophobia seem to experience more of a frightened or scared effect if the dog appears aggressive or is barking angrily.
In addition to panic and anxiety, you may also experience one or more of the following symptoms upon encountering, or in the presence of a dog;

Increase in heart rate
Sweating
Heightened levels of fear
Shaking Limbs
Nausea
Dizziness
Irrational thoughts
Irrational behaviours

Many suffers of cynophobia experience this phobia but do not seek treatment as they see their fear of dogs as a normal everyday fear and most individuals are never able to overcome this fear alone.
What can I do to overcome and manage my fear of dogs?

There is a big difference in managing your cynophobia and actually curing it indefinitely. By simply managing your fear of dogs i.e. crossing the road when you see a dog or avoiding the presence of dogs entirely, you are not addressing the deeper lying issues at hand. However, a long term solution to overcoming your fears completely is available in the form of Anxiety Hypnosis. This treatment is by far the easiest way to face your fears, tackle them head on and overcome them completely.

The Nexus Team Anxiety Hypnosis and now with Jikiden Reiki have been helping clients from all over the United Kingdom, overcome their fear of dogs for many years, and all in a safe and comfortable environment that is perfectly suited to your needs.

What is the anxious fear of heights?

Acrophobia, or the fear of heights is an extremely common fear, affecting up to 1 in 20 adults in the UK alone. This fear seems to be little easier to manage than some of the other most common fears as it is reasonably easy to avoid a situation where you will find yourself standing at a great height. Acrophobic individuals generally experience bouts of anxiety or panic attacks should they find themselves in a location which is set at a great height.

Simply tend to avoid activities such as roller coasters, Ferris wheels, bungee jumping or famously high landmarks such as The Empire State Building and The Eiffel Tower and stick the ground based recreational activities. However, avoiding these places does not mean you have overcome your fear and in the event that you expectedly find yourself at the top of a tall building or in a location that is set up high, you will more than likely experience some of the symptoms once again.

As with most phobias, the fear of heights seems to stem from an earlier negative life experience such as an accident, trauma or loss. For some individuals, just thinking about being up high is enough to bring on some level of panic or anxiety.

What are the symptoms of Acrophobia?

The fear of heights should not be confused with the medical condition of “vertigo”, which is often associated with height. Vertigo is actually a condition whereby sufferers experience a spinning effect when they are standing or sitting still.
If you already know that you suffer from a fear of heights, or you find yourself in a high up location where you feel that you are not in control, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms;

At Anxiety Hypnosis we aim to help you reduce the following:

Increase in heart rate
Sweating
Heightened levels of fear
Shaking Limbs
Nausea
Dizziness
Irrational thoughts

When such symptoms are present, many sufferers of Acrophobia tend to lower their body towards the floor, descend from their position or even sit or lie on the ground.

What can The Nexus Team do to overcome and manage your anxious fear of heights?

The difference between managing your fears and overcoming them is quite large. EMPTY NEST SYNDROME

Are you struggling with your eldest child leaving for university…

What is Empty Nest Syndrome?

Bags packed for university , Anxiety Hypnosis The Nexus Team can help Empty Nest Syndrome is a time when a child leaves the home to move away to university. This can be a heart wrenching time for both parents but especially for the mother. The shock of you being around your child for 18 years and now they have moved out can leave you feeling empty inside.

Although no one has died the same symptoms of grief and heartache are very much felt particularly within a loving family.

This is in every way a new chapter in life, how everyone has to adjust to the new challenges that life has brought you.

The Feeling of Grief.

There is a bag of mixed feelings surrounding the whole situation of what is happening. On one part you have to be happy that they are doing well and thriving, as well as being educated in their chosen field of knowledge. Of course with this double edged sword, you have the negative emotion that just seems to overwhelm the positives especially to begin with.

The feeling of loss and the emptiness in the house at certain times and the things you shared has this could be a time when you no longer have your child’s friends coming around either.

What Can You Do About It…

If you have experienced grief before, then you will recognise the similarity in the emotional feelings. It’s not good to hold onto the negative feelings, as indeed men (fathers) may do. Feeling like an emotional wreck right now, may feel like you’ll never get rid of this.

I think that you should give yourself permission to cry, and parents should be encouraged to express this together if their relationship can do this. This isn’t about a weakness but recognising that you are both feeling the same and this can be your strength. Although one part of the relationship may feel stronger and keep a sense of reality and calmness within the house hold.

Never feel bad about how you feel even though you think that it’s silly as this emotion needs to come out of you so that the healing can take place. It’s okay to avoid the negativity for a while as you don’t want to burst into tears while in the shops.

Your Time To Change.

You have the opportunity to rediscover yourself, but this may be hard as you have probably been at the beck and call for the family for many years. It is important that you have new challenges in your life, this will have to be your calling so to speak as everyone is different and you have to do what feels right.

You don’t have to have a a knee jerk reaction to doing whatever comes along. This could be joining a group with like minded interests. You can even start one of your own. There is an App called ‘meet-up’ as this can also be a way of you getting over your fears of either going out or being allowed to learn how to be you once more.

Anxious Times Ahead!

This can be an understatement of how you feel right now. Once you get over the initial shock and time moves on you will soon realise how time distortion kicks in and before you know it, they are on their way back home and you will be wondering why you felt the way you did.

In the meantime however, as all the new students at Birmingham University and of course the many universities around the country, students are all equally leaving grief stricken parents everywhere. Your kids are possibly feeling the same way, but they have new surrounding and new interests and certainly their new found freedom. So these kids are distracted to say the least, while you are at home crying your eyes out.

This is all natural, but this still leaves you feeling anxious because of wondering if they are okay and not getting into trouble etc…

Anxiety Hypnosis.

As I have mentioned that anxiety, fear, stress and grief play a major part in the overall well-being of you, that said if you don’t deal with this, then you too will suffer. It is documented that mothers particularly can get breast cancer and even brain legends** or scaring on the brain because of the child leaving home for the first time. Of course kids can leave home many times, if they are in a career that calls them away for months at-a-time.

You may feel like you only want to talk about how you feel and that’s okay, also you may want to try hypnosis to get a better understanding of yourself. This could be to help you find confidence to go out and face the world as a new you.

The Nexus Team can also offer EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) ,this is a great way to help get your brain and especially your mind to cope better with the present situation. This also helps people with that grief feeling.
Anxiety Hypnosis also helps you by allowing the mind to readjust to the new immediate difficulties and help get you away from feeling like an emotional wreck. But you don’t have to feel at your worst to see me as you can have a free complimentary consultation to be accessed to see whether you would benefit from my help.

To Sum up.

Congratulate yourself for getting your child to be able to get into university and this is what you have all been working towards. Also that they are probably having a good time and this is a time when we all have mobiles and can easily stay in touch also with social media. Feel sad and cry if you need to, but don’t stay there and move forward. This was bound to happen but notice that it will become less traumatic each day and the rawness will fade. Above all don’t be to hard on yourself as you might have other children who need you attention more then ever now.
